OPT-IN RESEARCH PARTICIPANT MANAGEMENT
Background. Recruiting participants for user research is time-consuming and can be an inefficient use of research resources. Even finding appropriate users can be very difficult; a 10% recruiting return is not unusual. So how does a product team easily embed user insight if you can't connect with users?
Solution. Working with another UX researcher at LexisNexis, we conceptualized and designed a system to allow users of LexisNexis digital products to opt-in to a research community and choose when and how to participate in our research studies.
A proposal of the idea was presented to the CEO and his leadership team. "Innovation Connection" found a sponsor and was funded by a business unit. My colleague and I were awarded a CEO innovation award for our work.
